Fall Barn and Vintage Truck
Hello all! This was a project I enjoyed doing very much. I've had this Down on the Farm Dreaming Tree set since it was released. I just needed to find the time and right reason to make it. I was asked to make a fall project. I felt the Vintage Flatbed Truck from Simply Crafty SVGs mixed with the Fall Barn was oh so perfect together.
This was not my first time making the Vintage Flatbed Truck, I made it last year with a few twists on it found here.
Let's get to it. To start with, I wanted to distress the siding of my barn. The easiest way to do this since my airbrush finally broke for good, was to simply drag my two ink pads down the sheet of Bazzill Gray Cardstock.
It looks messy, but the ending results was surprisingly more than what I was looking for.
Next, I kept the excess paper for a guide of where to put my slats using my Xyron Tape Runner.
Inking it before hand helps bring the grain out.
Finally, I cut my wood pieces out.
You can see that by running the piece through the Xyron Creative Station before making the cut, effectively added adhesive to the back of my cut. Doing it this way helps save time as well as I don't have to run tiny pieces through my Station.
For the Final Project I packed up my little scene and headed down the river for a little scenic backdrop.
We took a trip to Montana this summer. There's a lot of farms, but one in particular that I remember seeing as a child off of I90. It has an old working windmill behind it so I decided I needed to make a 3D windmill to match my barn and truck.
