Happy Haunting

Hello all! Anyone ready for Halloween? Here in the Inland Northwest, as I write this, it's snowing. WHAT?! Snow in September. No not yet it needs to wait until at least October 31st! Meanwhile my children are concerned about getting to trick-or-treat.

Today I bring you a simple card I made using Maker's Movements newest Happy Haunts stamp and die set
I knew I wanted to do some sort of "painted" sky theme. So I started off with a simple 5x7 white rectangle and a circle. I ran the circle through my Xyron Creative Station Lite® with the Repositionable Adhesive cartridge.
I mapped out where I wanted my moon to be
Grabbing some markers and my eBrush, I played around
I made three different sky scenes to see which one I liked best with this stamp and dies set.

I felt this one was the best and floated some white into the clouds just for definition.
Next I grabbed my Crossover II with the Happy Haunts dies.
For this card I decided to keep the scene black.
I grabbed some vellum and my Xyron Mega Runner® to adhere it to the back of my scene for the windows.
Next I stamped out my pumpkin and detailed it before running it through my Crossover II with the die.
Next I chose my sentiment from the Happy Haunts stamp set.
Last minute decision, I cut my haunted houses and bat out on the background scene to inlay the black die cuts.
I replaced my repositionable adhesive in my Creative Station Lite® to run my main pieces through to assemble to my card base.

  1. Wow! Your card is so detailed and amazing. I really like the airbrushed background. They all looked pretty great but the one you chose worked so well with the scene. The vellum in the windows is such a subtle but awesome detail. Loving all the layering! Thank you for sharing this awesome project! :)
PS, no snow here yet in Atlantic Canada but it feels cold enough. The western provinces got some last weekend. Brrr!!!
