Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is Teacher Appreciation week. I got a late start on it though because I was busy with my Honey Bear project. So on Tuesday I asked the children what they wanted to do. They each wanted cards for their teachers, but that quickly turned into another, and another, and another. Before I knew it, I made 13 cards in 3 days.

Which I thought was awesome that they wanted something for the librarian, gym teacher, music teacher, and others. How often are those teachers recognized? If I had more time I would've done everyone from custodian, meal prep, secretaries, etc. simply because it takes a village right!

I'll list the cards from what I started with to finish so you can see me slowly losing energy in doing this ;)

Cards #1-6: Make the world Spin

For these 5" x 7" cards, I started out with some Bazzill Basic Papers cardstock (names will be listed below) as well as the newest Country Manor DCWV stack. I designed the cardbase from scratch so there's no file for that.
I had to cut double the worlds because I wanted them to spin. Using some green ClearSnap ColorBox ink and a dry brush, I ran some color around the edges.
I love doing this because you can get as messy as you want and the outcome still looks great!
 I edged the blue with some Memento Bahama Blue next.
I ran each piece through the Xyron Creative Station® because I wanted a strong adhesive on the backing as well as no warping from glue.

Next I popped some fishing wire on the back of each world after adding a simple heart embellishment.
 Then I ran the 'you' labels through my Xyron Creative Station Lite®.
 Using Swingline staples, I added a staple just because.

Card # 7 and #8: Where there's music...

Music, I have it on ALL the time. My husband named our daughter Learic. She would always dance in my tummy and now the girl sings and dances and always has to have music on as well. 

For these cards, I grabbed some white cardstock and black pearl cardstock. The patterned paper is from DCWV's Scripts and Music Notes stack.  
I didn't want to risk any warping with glue so I ran the pieces for card #7 through the Xyron Creative Station® . The frames and card is smaller and more delicate at 4.5" x 4.5".
One of the pieces is a vellum and came out beautifully with the adhesive to the entire back. Which if you have worked with vellum, you know that adhering it can be fickle.
I cut the pieces for card #8 with #7. I grabbed my Teresa Collins Mega Runner by Xyron® to adhere the black keys to the white.
By the time I got to assemble card #8, I just decided to run the pieces through my Xyron Creative Station Lite® because they fit perfectly! 
The music notes do not come with this file. I had to create them using the 'Internal Offset' option. Then I sliced it to my liking with the slicing tool. Add some music notes, weld it all together, and this is the final result before I added rolled rosessettes!

Card #9 Unicorn Poop "Sorry" card

So this was an impromptu card. One of my children took a dare at school that landed them in the hot seat. It was a minor incident, but could've had a larger outcome so I felt it appropriate for that child to give a card to the reprimender. 

I wanted the 'sorry' to stand out and none of my stamps were large enough. I was already planning on embossing the sentiment, so I just grabbed my Silhouette pen holder, a regular pen, my 'Emboss It Pen' by Ranger Ink and filled the sentiment in by hand. 
 Next, using some Recollections 'Opaque Sparkle', I poured it on generously.

 And well of course I used my Xyron Creative Station Lite® for adhesive!
I like to assemble on the paper after I run it through either of my machines.

Cards #10 and #11

By this point in time, I am pretty sure I was delirious and not sure what was happening in my world. So I went simple.

After cutting all my pieces out in Bazzill cardstock (blue and yellow are school colors), I ran them through Xyron Creative Station®. 
Some might want to know the difference between this machine and the Xyron Creative Station Lite®. It's just a size thing. The Xyron Creative Station Lite® is a 5" machine and the Xyron Creative Station® is a 9" machine.
This by far is not the longest ribbon I've gotten, but I'll tell you what I LOVE my stations (incase you didn't notice), because they save me so much time. I just cut my pieces, run them through the machine, run a small tipped item around the edges, peel off the top layer of film and assemble away!

Cards #12 and #13

If I'm not crafting and listening to music, you will find me reading with music. So when the children asked for cards for the librarian, I was all about it!

For card #12 I saw a library board or something that was decorated like this and I thought hmm I could make that into a card. For the pages of the book, I grabbed some Tuxedo Black Memento Luxe ink and Stampendous's 'Dream Text' stamp.
Next I dry brushed some clouds into the sky with some Memento 'Bahama Blue' and 'Paris Dusk'.
I was able to use the Teresa Collins Mega Runner by Xyron®  for adhering my pieces.
And for card #13 I simply ran the pieces through the Xyron Creative Station®, adhered the pieces to the card base and I was DONE!

I decided to add in a 'library book card' as a way to get the message to the recipient. I was pretty happy with the outcome as well!

    Wow, you and all your machines and tools have certainly been busy. What amazing cards! Each one is so special. The teachers and other staff would feel very loved receiving these cards from your children. Thank you for sharing the details and all the wonderful inspiration. Well done! :)
