National Coffee Day

Let's face it, without coffee my world doesn't go round and round again! I was honored to be asked to be a guest designer for Die Cuttin Divas again. When I saw National Coffee Day as an option to design something, I jumped on the opportunity! Seems how many people face this same dilemma as I do, I decided to make a gift set for National Coffee Day.
Coffee is my most favorite thing to look forward to every morning. That first burst of hotness on the taste buds, nothing like it.
To begin with this gift set, I found this great 3D Secretary Box from SVG Attic's 'JGW Mothers Moments' set.

I immediately knew that the back compartment would be a great place for cards to be stored. I knew that I wanted to simulate coffee stains, however I don't have that stamp so I had to improvise.
To start with, I wanted a darker coffee mix and a lighter one just for contrast
For the darker, I just let the coffee pod soak a bit longer in hot water
Next I took a shot glass (since I planned to use these as accents for the cards, I needed a smaller bottom than a regular sized coffee cup)
 Dip and stamp
I did one 12 x 12 white sheet and one 8.5 x 11 just in case I wanted to print and cut on it.
I set these aside and got to work on the base and drawer insert for the main project. *******Sugar Tip*******the paper does wilt a bit (thin cardstock), all I did to flatten it was run a hot iron over it. Works like a charm!
This insert is not included in the project. But it is simple enough to make. I just took the measurements of the inside of the drawer, added enough to bend flaps down for adhering to the inside of the box, and added five circles to house the pods.

Tim Holtz idea-ology hardware brings out the best on this gift set. Gives any project a bit of a boost.
The hidden areas of this box created the perfect opportunity for me to fill it with little gifts and goodies.
This project smelled great the entire time I was cutting and gluing!

The six cards housed in the back are all different, but still share the same coffee cup from SVG Attic's 'SDS Coffee Break' set.
The coffee rings turned out good.
Next I created nine tags to go into the hidden compartment. Each one is different
