Dirty Girls

It is still hard to believe we don't have clip clops of puppy dog nails on the floors anymore. No more dog hair, puppy kisses, or wiggle butts running around the house.

While our girls have joined each other over the Rainbow Bridge in the last three years, I was still able to capture many happy moments that will last a life time on paper!

For whatever reason, this months Stack-a-holic challenge from DCWV made me think of these photos from a few years ago. It was a match made in scrapbook heaven!

Speaking of heaven made matches, I was able to use a lot of Rinea Copper Foil for this layout. It matched DCWV's 'Rose Quartz' stack perfectly.

Dakohta Maei was our white/brown boxer mix who we more often or not referred to as Moo-Moo. She passed away December 30th, 2013 at almost 9 1/2 years old. We had her literally from the day she was born. She was the only pup that I was able to witness be born from my brothers mama dog. She was our gentle giant who HATED water!

Seaka Raei was our brindle full bred boxer who was my birthday gift. We had her at 6 weeks old. She passed away October 2nd, 2016 at 10 years and 8 months old. I have yet to adjust to not seeing her in the window when we pull up in the driveway. She loved water!

Our son is fortunate enough to be able to remember both dogs and he talks about them often.

To start with I was able to emboss the copper sheets of Rinea Foil with my Big Shot and a puppy dog paw embossing folder by Darice. Make sure to jump over to Rinea Foil to see even more foils! http://www.rinea.com/ 

 Next I cut a bunch or rectangles in the copper and black to adhere the photos to.

 Settings for these cuts are on copy paper, blade at a 1, and I find that thickness at 7 works just right for the copper.

 Next I grabbed this gorgeous quartz cardstock from the stack and did the circles.

 I measured and laid out the copper first. It just so happens that the full sheet the comes in the package was just the right fit for what I needed.

 Then I added the banner at the top of the copper.

 One little thing I do when working on matching layouts is cut the objects in half before removing them from the mat. A simple line drawn down the middle in Silhouette Studio, aligned middle and center works great!

 Now comes the fun part. Putting it together and adding all the special little touches!

I was happy to find the appropriate details within the stack I was working with. Anyone who has had or has a boxer knows there's ALWAYS an adventure around ever corner with the goof balls! 

 Journaling is a main part I always make sure to do when I do a layout. That way in years from now, my children won't have to guess what was going on or how old they were when the going ons was happening! I was happy to also be able to use this tag from the stack for journaling.
