UP in the sky
Woo wee this card took some time! I spent an entire full 9 hours on the balloons/house alone!
For Grandparents day, what is more fitting than doing a replica of the best Pixar love story, UP?!
I found Ellie and Carl on Kraftynook's blog awhile ago and I decided to use them for a great z-fold card!
For the mountains and waterfall, I just kinda pieced this and that together until I was happy with the outcome.
The balloons, well the balloons have so many little pieces to them, let me show you a shortcut on keeping all those pieces in the order they are supposed to go in!
I do vinyl work so with that, I have learned to use contact paper as a friend when piecing small paper pieces as well.
First I cut out the base image on white paper. Then I organized each balloon color to my liking and cut each one out as it stood to be glued in place.
So once I cut the blue balloons, I did a bit of accent color with my eBrush. Then took my contact paper and applied it directly to the mat.
Peel up the blue (may need to use a scraping tool) and put the contact paper back back on!
I did this step individually for each color, you could use the same sheet of contact paper if you wish to do so, but I wanted to use individual sheets for each color.
Then simply glue the shapes where they go! Easy. No having to figure out where this little piece or that little piece belongs!
Tune in tomorrow for another Grandparents card, no lion!
