Winney the Witch
Hello all! I suggest grabbing a cup of coffee and relaxing through this post as it is a long one. Lots of details to showcase.
For her eyes, I didn't want to have just one solid color and I knew I wanted purple and blue in there somewhere so I grabbed my Caliart alcohol markers and got to work.
She's coming together!
I used my Xyron Teresa Collins Mega Runner (my go to runner) to get some larger pieces assembled.
And my Xyron Creative Station for all the smaller detail pieces.
This project, like many of mine, started as one simple thing and then I just started adding details as they came to my brain. So here, instead of using the included paper hair, I grabbed two pieces of fake hair from the Dollar General. Thankfully they still had some in in their Halloween section!
I needed to tame her hair somehow. I happened to have some bread ties in one of my drawers and decided why not. Use what you have!
Then I simply added bows over the tie.
The newest Monster Movie DCWV (from Joann's) stack that I found for Halloween was perfect for this project. I fell in love with this Grisly Place SVG from Dreaming Tree and really wanted to incorporate it somehow as this is probably going to be my only Halloween project this year.
The Xyron Teresa Collins Mega Runner is something I always use for my vellum. I don't get any curling of the paper and it stays where it needs to be.
If you notice I changed the bottom of my hat to incorporate the banner "fans" from the Dreaming Tree Halloween Banner SVG just to give it a little something different. Next I decided to emboss some inner pieces with my Sizzix Big Shot and a Darice swirl embossing folder.
After I embossed those pieces, I simply ran some black ink over the pieces to highlight the swirls.
Now it's down to detailing all my extra little pieces. Yes, you can airbrush on vellum!
And the Xyron Creative Station Lite is the perfect size to run some of my smaller vellum pieces through. I love using the Creative Stations for vellum because you cannot see the adhesive and you don't get any warped vellum.
Here's one of the hidden features of this that I added, the hat opens to reveal her cauldron full of potions.
Sneaky little witch
And here's another hidden feature, her house. Did you see it on the initial photos? No?! It's in there though!
The tealight I used is a multi-colored one so I was able to get multiple colors at different times without having to use colored vellum.
Yeah, it's downsized dramatically from the original file!
To begin with, I grabbed the Winney Witch Treat Box SVG from Dreaming Tree. After I cut out my witch pieces using Bazzill Basic Papers, I started to assemble.
This round I decided to wait until the main head piece was assembled before detailing it with my Craftwell eBrush. She looks like she's ready for war!For her eyes, I didn't want to have just one solid color and I knew I wanted purple and blue in there somewhere so I grabbed my Caliart alcohol markers and got to work.

Final Project:
Without her hatHere's one of the hidden features of this that I added, the hat opens to reveal her cauldron full of potions.

Yeah, it's downsized dramatically from the original file!
But it was easy to assemble.
The hat by itself could be used as a centerpiece
But wait, there's more. Details, details, details. We have ghosts, bats, zombie hands, a murder of crows, spiders, webs, tombstones, um and I think that sums it all up!
