Back to School cards

Our son started back to school on Wednesday and our daughter starts Kindergarten on Monday! It happens so quickly. I usually do a little something for their teachers as a welcome back to school thing. This year both kids are in a new school so I went a little light on what I usually do. Why? Time mostly. It snuck up on me.
My son has two teachers this year, they are both part time and rotate shifts. My daughter has her teacher and a student teacher. So I took four Lori Whitlock sticky note easel cards from the Silhouette Design Store and left a funny little message on each one.

I started with some Bazzill Basic Papers cardstock for the base of each card. I took a white gel pen with the Silhouette Pen Holder and wrote my "watermark" on the back of each card rather than using a label with the Silhouette Cameo 3.

Using the same pen and pen holder, I decided I wanted to change the original sentiment on the chalkboard file so I used the white gel pen to do so and a silver one to do the lines. I then ran some chalk around the edges of this cut to give it a used chalkboard look.
Next I grabbed my Sizzix Big Shot with some embossing folders and decided to emboss at least one item on each card.

While thinking of embossing, I decided to powder emboss the leaves of the apples for two of the cards.
 Before the embossing powder...
 Covered with the powder...
Ready for my Darice Heat Tool...
 And done...
After cutting out all the elements for all four cards, it was time to assemble.
There's no better way to assemble a card than to use the Xyron Creative Station®.

I used the gel pens to bring in a little bit of detailing.
Ready for the post-it's. I took the first sheet off of three of the stacks to write a little message on them using the Silhouette Pen Holder and a regular old pen.
