Vintage Girl
Hello all! This week the Xyron design team has teamed up with Photo Play Paper. Today I am showing you a vintage set I made using Photo Play's Vintage Girl paper and cardstock die cuts.
When I first saw this paper, I immediately thought of an old wardrobe file I have that I thought would be perfect for this paper.
Once I got the base cut out for the wardrobe, I then decided to add a mannequin that I could add a vintage dress to tie in the vintage girl theme. The Xyron Mega Runner® came in handy for attaching all of the detail pieces to my wardrobe box. I also sprinkled in a few Tim Holtz hardware pieces to add to the vintage look.
I like to use the 1.5" Sticker Maker for the smaller pieces to add detail to my projects.
Next I used a pop up tab made with my Xyron Creative Station®. To see how to make your own pop up tab, click here and follow step 4.
Here is where I ran into problems! I really wanted to make some paper roses. I got everything set and ready to detail when not even halfway through the first sheet of paper, my eBrush broke.
Which ended up being a blessing in disguise because I went back to the drawing board. I decided to cut my roses out in vellum, add color to the pedals by using chalk ink and a paint brush, and roll the flowers with my McGill flower roller set. This process ended up taking me the longest out of the whole project, as it was an extensive process, but the roses turned out more natural looking I think.
Next I was able to get started on the mannequin. I loved the double sided paper from the Vintage Girl set. I was able to utilize each paper and the matching was pretty easy since it all goes together anyhow!
The mannequins skirt was a bit of a challenge to design. Good thing I have a drawer full of scrap paper for this because well it took some time to put what was in my head onto paper!
I happened to have some black tulle lying around that made a great addition to under the skirt.
I was almost completely done with this project when I just felt like it wasn't complete enough without a vintage chair. I also added some pillows detailed with matching stickers that came with this paper pack.
Final Project:

This little pearls sentiment was the inspiration to add some pearls to all three pieces.
